(this is a better link for NASA viewing)

I found another neat article.

August 21st - Total Solar Eclipse

View the Solar Eclipse Live Hosted by NASA
https://www.nasa.gov/eclipselive-info

If you plan on watching the eclipse, there are a few things you should know:

1. UV light from the sun during the eclipse can damage your retina causing a condition called solar retinopathy. Purchase special solar eclipse glasses in order to watch the eclipse safely. (Gas stations, convenient stores, Walmart etc. sell these glasses but most stores have run out. This is why the link provided is so great!)

2. Homemade glasses or regular sunglasses (even if they are polarized) are NOT RECOMMENDED for use to view the eclipse.

3. DO NOT use a telescope, phone, or any other optical device to look at the eclipse (even with proper glasses on.) This will concentrate the rays of the sun and damage your eyes.

4. We care about your pets! Although not proven, it's assumed that the eyes of cats and dogs can be damaged by the harmful UV rays of the solar eclipse too. Keep them inside as much as possible.

Enjoy your weekend and happy eclipse watching!
