The FDA requires a monograph or "recipie " to be filed at which time, the OTC drug can be sold without an approval so long as it's not categorized as a new drug. Even so, no testing is required as long as the recipe is compliant with the existing FDA registry.
There are over 300,000 OTC applications available for purchase currently.
Once the monograph registration is completed, sales can begin. Does anyone know the timeline?
