Petz said Centrino is 'not pulling its weight' -- because its TRUE.

Lets take a closer look at your UNTRUE CLAIM about Best Buy:
Best Buy Centrino Here: 10 Models Available (Type Centrino in search box)
http://www.bestbuy.com/

First of all, if you do that, there are EIGHT notebooks listed, not 10, since two of the "matches" are publicity blurbs from Intel, not products.

Of the eight products, the Sony VIAO 1.5 GHz (SKU# 5755998) is listed twice, and the Acer Travelmate 1.3 GHz (SKU# 5411752) is listed twice. Absolutely the same product, price, etc.

So there are really six Centrino notebooks, right?

Well, not exactly. Of these six, the first two, the Sony VIAO 1.5 GHz PCG-Z1RA and the Acer Travelmate 1.3 GHz TM800LCi are not sold in stores. Automatically cuts sales by 90%. Furthermore, the Sony is out of stock.

So there are four Centrino notebooks that are sold in stores. They are
Toshiba M15-S405 1.4 GHz Limited Store Availability & out of stock
Compaq Presario X1010US 1.3 GHz Available most stores, in stock
Acer TMC110TCi 0.9 GHz 0.9 GHz Limited Store Availability, in stock
Sony VIAO PCG-TR1A 0.9 GHz Limited Store Availability, out of stock

You have to laugh at the reality of the situation. Nearly every Best Buy store displays a dozen or more notebooks, but you will be lucky to see more than TWO Centrinos, and one of those will be a subnotebook with a 900 MHz processor.

How come there's nothing faster than 1.4 GHz? All the ooh-and-ahh reviewers got 1.6 GHz Centrino notebooks, but six months later, they are missing in action in stores. Only the 1.3 GHz Compaq Presario X1010US is readily available.

Don't worry though, Centrino is "pullings its weight" at Alienware.
