He wants it clean, final, and over, and then disappear into the obscurity from which he emerged.

RP was comfortable in the spotlight, not Fred. Pure torture when he had to stand in front of the Shareholders. One on one he was much more comfortable puffing.

He can't wait for this to be over.

Reading the Agora Board and hearing of the tales of woe and tragedy, I imagine he responds, "Let them eat cake, but give me my discharge ASAP."
