Because fuel cell technology is still in developmental stage. The associated costs of manufacturing must continue going down and reliability must continue going up. Unfortunately, I know someone who runs a maintenance shop for a big distributor who recently informed me his Company was getting rid of PLUG POWER because the equipment was unreliable and they are returning to traditional gas and electric fork trucks.
Ballard is going to have to keep working harder to cut costs and deliver the best product possible. We have a tough job ahead of us, but I believe Ballard is going to be the front runner.
