["I think that Destiny might be toast, for a couple of reasons. I just had my business internet (Spectrum) upgraded, so it's now something like 110/17, which is pretty good, but I see no change in the Clipstream videos, the problem is Clipstream."]

I think I've explained at least half a dozen times, probably more, that beyond a certain minimum (in the order of 4GB/s), the speed of your connection doesn't really come into it.

Your internet connection isn't the bottleneck, it's CPU and memory that are potential bottlenecks as the HVEC codec is far more bandwidth efficient but requires more CPU and memory.

And I say potential as you seem to be the only one having real trouble. I have a 6GB/s connection and the demo's look fine, even on a 7 year old laptop or a 2 year old iPad, and I know people who say it looks good on their phones.

Now, it doesn't really matter all that much what I say or you say, it matters what the company says because they do far more testing with lots of people using different devices.

And they say it's still not good enough, but it's getting close.

And the simple truth is that time is on our side:
- Older, more constrained devices will be replaced by newer devices with better CPU and memory. This might be a slow grind, but it's also inexorable.
- The player itself will see improvements.

Based on the penultimate improvement, which was a substantial leap, I'm pretty sure we'll get there in the end. But this is just my opinion and that, as so many opinions, could be wrong.
