We've had chickens for over 10 years now. I FINALLY had a hen that would sit on a nest of fertilized eggs long enough to hatch one. Only got one to hatch and still have to throw away a lot of eggs that didn't, it's a start.

If we are to achieve sustainability? More of this needs to happen, lol.
