(edit:) Thorton was supposed to have 256KB L2, while Appaloosa was 128KB cache, right? Seeing the extremely low prices is it possible that Appalbred has 128KB L2 (256KB total). Maybe Appaloosa excluded the additional metal layers found in later Thoroughbreds, and hence a Appalbred might just be a 128KB Thoroughbred which has the exact same features as the originally intended Appaloosa. AMD making a U-turn bringing Appalbred to the market instead of Thorton? Is this move to undercut any possible desktop banias sales? Anyone with clues (above stuff is just my wagging)?
