Combjelly, others, then the dv9000T sounds like the better model. It offers the Core 2 Duo and can be configured with a 7200RPM disk drive (not sure why the HP AMD dv9000z does not offer a 7200RPM drive; is this an indication of excess heat since it uses more power?)

When I configure identical systems the Intel model is about $50 more expensive, no big deal. If I get a cooler running processor and can step up to a faster disk drive then it seems like the better deal.

Now, I have not purchased an Intel-powered PC since the original Athlon came out because I liked the AMD products better. This is the first Intel machine I am seriously considering.

Can anyone give me a counter-argument?

The dv9000t features the powerful Intel Core Duo and 64-bit Core 2 Duo processors.
