Meters are not the future of GPS enabled ride hailing companies. Uber agreed to in one Indian city to get a foothold in the region. Nothing more, nothing less. Uber has always fought against the use of meters and fights lawsuits by claiming they are not taxis.

'We will continue to work with the government in the hope that they will update their proposed regulations and enable Danes to enjoy the benefits of modern technologies like Uber.'

There is no evidence, there is no ANYTHING to suggest Uber wants to abandon GPS for meters.

World Moto only ever stood a chance in the state run taxi industry. That was their market.
