I continue to invest in these small exploration companies because one big hit can easily wipe out all the losses and produce hefty gains.

IMO, betting the farm on a single exploration company like ERHC is a big mistake. Becoming emotionally and financially attached to a company where it clouds reasonable assessment of the company and affects the ability to see the truth and hold those responsible for poor performance accountable is even worse.

I'm happy to say that hasn't happened to me with ERHC or any other company. Only invest what you can afford to lose in companies like this.
