dasgrunt. Yeah, I read the same Seeking Alpha piece by Orange peel. Overall, it was fact based and informative. It was posted on the MNK board and of course it has received the wrath of MNK holders. Orange is correct, ANI is working on the first real threat to the HP Acthar monopolistic franchise. ANI is definitely on MNK's radar and the analysts that follow MNK as last quarter one of the analyst ask the MNK CEO about the ANI threat. He downplayed it of course.
I've noticed some large MNK holders such as John Paulson are beginning to significantly reduce their holdings in MNK. One that baffles me is Consonence which at one time was ANI's largest holder is selling out of ANI and purchasing large amount of MNK shares. OMG!!!???
Again, ANI turned in a very solid QTR II performance and at some point the institutions will not lump it together with the over leveraged generic firms. ANI management has many years in the generic business and they understand the dynamics plus they are building the company out on a very conservative manner keeping balance sheet health in mind.
I believe patience will pay off with ANI especially when they crash MNK's monopoly on HP Acthar. Expect some major announcements concerning progress on corticotropin drugs beginning in QTR IV 2017 (FDA meeting) and into 2018 (batch to batch consistency, commercial production stability and FDA filing).
