An equity investor isn't a loan in the first place, so I have no idea why you would throw that out. The very word 'equity' MEANS stock, in a public company. No 'equity investor' buys stock on the open market and gives it to the company to 'retire'. Might as well throw that money in the ocean. There is ABSOLUTELY no way any equity investor would do that. They are in it for profit, not loss.
