Why we could be sitting on a golden egg...

Posts sometimes get overlooked, I think this one deserves to be reposted.

In my opinion. Reading the posts over the last month or so, one of the common themes revolves around what channels are available to watch. After all, if my favorite channels aren't on there, I wouldn't feel as compelled to order the service.

Along those lines, there has been a lot of speculation about how much revenue we could get when we ramp up subscribers in a big way. Cable revenues can be huge, in the hundreds of millions of dollars annually.

However, that's just one piece of the revenue picture when I look at the VivAlive middleware platform. It's the broadcasting side that has me really stoked!

Currently, Google, YouTube and Facebook have their own very powerful niches for driving traffic and revenue in their direction, to the tune of billions of dollars in annual revenue.

And it just my be that OTTV has created the next revenue monster with their internet broadcasting platform. That's what it looks like to me. I don't give much thought to the number of tv channels that I can watch, though being able to watch them on my tablet at the cafe or bookstore, or wherever I have internet service, is very compelling.

But more compelling is the broadcast side. It appears that OTTV has created a turn-key broadcast platform, simplifying the process for creating your own broadcast station. There could an absolute ton of revenue from that side alone.

If you read through the online manual, you'll notice that broadcasters can scale up the number of viewer for extra money. And they can choose where they want those broadcasts to be delivered, allowing them to choose who sees their broadcast. In fact, that feels similar to the way I can run my Adwords on Google.

What that means to me is that the VivAlive platform feels more like an advertising platform on the backend - I pay more money for getting more viewers to watch my channel, plus there are premium features to purchase as well. It's also similar to how I pay more money when I have lots of people surfing a web site, or downloading videos from Amazon Web Services. Bandwidth simply costs money.

So in addition to the $35/month subscriber plan that could bring us a lot of revenue, as more and more broadcasters join the party, that's a lot more potential revenue. Notice there are options for the broadcasters to create their own ad campaigns as well.

This is a just a quick intro to where I think were heading and why VivAlive could be much bigger than even I can envision. It's kinda like a giant iceberg just now floating out to sea.

I'd recommend reading through the manual in detail so you can get an idea of what kind of advertising revenue that we might really be targeting as a key source of revenue. That's what I really want to see and what I'm gambling on - a huge revenue generating machine someday. That's my best guess.

The Manual Reveals Much
