cmdr, this could easily be read as someone who was very worried about additional tax payer losses and wanted to wind down the GSEs to avoid any such additional losses. I own 50k pre-cship shares, and want my f'ing $ back as much as anyone else, but I don't see anything scandalous in that excerpt. Yes, it was very cleverly written to obscure the real reason for destroying the GSEs, just like using "may" instead of "shall", but makes DeMarco's motive sound like its protecting tax payers, not helping TBTF banks get rich.
