For your computer, Sam - try updating or reloading the Drivers
for your son's USB Speaker thing. It seems to be the cause of these crashes... So if you need to continue using that speaker with that computer, basically remove any reference to it (if you can officially uninstall it that would be best) and then start trying to use it like it's new out of the box, install drivers etc.
