With a 1:300 split you'll end up with 373 shares at an average price of $8.04.

If they were to do a RS at this very moment then the price would reflect the 300 point increase and would be trading at approximately $6/shr.

There's many negative affects of a RS since most OTC companies reverse split due to ongoing dilution, that may continue post split and therefore pressure the price further down and resulting in ballooning outstanding shares once again.

This is exactly what happened last reverse split. The merger may help thwart some of the initial decline, but they have to be able to show they're able to manage their financing (dilution) in the future better than they did in the past, or the results will inevitably be the same in the long run.
