Unfortunately almost all of that was proved to be false. No oil was found in any Block other than Block 1. Total drilled another well in Block 1 to further test that block then pulled out after disappointing results. No wells have been drilled in Blocks 2,3 or 4 in six years and the operator in those blocks, Addax/Sinopec, pulled out and left too. Exxon and Chevron also left Block 1 early on after the first well in Block 1.

I see little to be optimistic about in the JDZ. The fact that another private Nigerian company with little technological expertise is the only one still interested in the JDZ doesn't surprise me at all. Nor does it give me much encouragement about the future of the JDZ.
