I'm going to assume your friend is in between the 28-39.5% tax bracket... short term cap gains 20%...yup awesome, whopping $1500+ gain ... us longs here call that beer and pizza money... but you can never go wrong with taking profit, after all that's what we're here for. Good luck.

PS: if you're above 31%... you're probably not gonna be messing around with beer/pizza money...just saying...
