drhunt... sounds like a management problem. My hospital is an acute care facility and we just doubled the size of the ER and built a free standing ER in the southern part of the city. We are adding four more rooms in surgery for cardiac procedures and doing extensive remodeling throughout the campus. BTW we had a 3.2 million profit last fiscal year and we don't get private or fedral funding. And the hospital's mission is to care for people that can't afford it. It's a good thing we're not close to California!
