The reason I believe that would be the scenario is that companies seldom get bought out at 1000% premiums. They no doubt would tell the BoD that they will sign after getting 10+% and filing. That might push price to 1.50-2 and not seem like they are overpaying to their shareholders. It would gap up and then the shorts would have to scramble. Trading above buyout price would almost be assured. If the price is deemed low to medium, you could get some other interested party involved starting a bidding war. But, I wouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves. Likely to be a JV instead of outright buyout. IMO.
