The last sentense tells a lot IMO, likely that O'Connor had a "wild west" mentality running the company as he saw fit in a non-callaborative way, enriching himself, putting relatives on the Board and exec team and kicking the can down the road in terms of generating shareholder value but being very agressive about his own non-performance based bonus pay while his investors bled out.
