Additionally, everything is different from model to model, and pretty much year-to-year for the same models! The brake pads, rotors, window motors, powers steering units, starters, tires, spark plugs, hell EVERYTHING is different! They don't even use the same 12V batteries in ICEs in different cars... that would be EASY to standardize... why don't they?
And there is little reason for that aside from the fact that aftermarket part sales are more lucrative than the car sales themselves...
It is NEVER going to happen!
