I like the idea a great deal. My limited experience with a simple raised bed with a clear covered roof worked out very well. My goal is to get some sort of greenhouse, or cold row covers in place this fall/winter for my cabbage family crops. The cabbage moths swarm my place in the summer and nobody eats the holy food.


I know the plants can tolerate cold weather, just not frost. I think if I can keep them from freezing, they should do well. The best Brussel sprouts I ever had was over an unseasonably mild winter.

Placing dark bottles of water is a good way for heat exchange in cooler temps. They warm up during the sunny days and dissipate heat slower of an evening.
