Hey 2Relax - the other possible parts of the full acquisition going south . . .

•Walgreens will now buy 2,186 stores, three distribution centers and related inventory from Rite Aid, the drugstore chains announced.
•This deal has been valued at $5.18 billion in cash.

No idea what the whys might be but on the bare surface it would seem to me both parties may have received direction from DC on the viability of the deal from an FTC monopoly perspective - OR - something popped up in the due diligence process leaving them with perhaps a need for cash on the part of Rite Aid, but Walgreens did not want to be encumbered or tainted by some Rite Aid issues??? Or, was it perhaps a labor issue? It's still a huge deal at north of $5Billy while increasing the Walgreens stable by almost 2,200 selling units.

What I like is it gives BIEL 2 corporate doors to be knocking on instead of just one and without the long delays that often occur during M&A turmoil . . . . . yesterday! Not soon, or later, yesterday! To me, it's like the FDA OTC clearance; take the foot and knee and work on the general clearance, but get something, anything OTC cleared, whatever and whenever you can. Same with the retailers, get the foot and knee on the retail shelves, whatever and whenever you can . . . and the back etc. and Allay . . . . later
