I wonder-

How many shares could a GSK or similiar BP/BT accumulate in the open mkt without reporting a 5% stake?

Any way to get around the 5% stake reporting?
I believe Barclays did by dividing it up among their co's.

BP would not show up on the institutional reporting, so there is one theory on why the % does not jive with the share count at R3K.....

How much of a stake does BP usually buy in the open mkt ahead of a merger/acqusition?

Being able to buy a large % of the stock at $2.00 and under for 24 mnths or so, could fetch BP a great deal if that was/is the case.

How many shares could ES and Co have, i.e.....friendly shares not having to be reported? At $1-2, that would not be hard to do over 24-36 mnths. They were talking holy grail over a year ago and the biggest discovery in 20 yrs, etc. If they truly believed that, alot of stock could be sitting in friendly hands..

Too many strange things going on here and have been for 18 mnths or so.
