I completely disagree with this comment (respectfully). Asking why people would want the Simple Cork is like asking why bakeries waste time slicing their own bread, or why some tinned products come with a built in ring pull. It would be cheaper and easier for manufacturers not to include these features with their products and just let their customers figure it out for themselves. However, they do because they know it’s better and more convenient.

In my view, there is tremendous value in a wine bottle that could be opened and then resealed anywhere without the need for the bottle opener. Exactly what this form this Simple Cork venture is going to take is still unclear, but I think it was mentioned that this would be a ‘licensing play’ for the company. Either way, I’m expecting to be extremely lucrative.
