See, it's the same fish http://www.fao.org/fishery/culturedspecies/Siniperca_chuatsi/en Mandarin fish farming, with more than a decade of development by 2003, had reached a production of 150 000 tonnes but about two thirds of this was produced in one province, Guangdong. It has become one of the important aquaculture species and there is considerable expertise in its culture. The fish is acknowledged as the 'freshwater grouper' and has a good taste, is easy to farm with a high output, and has a good market, producing a profitable return. The profit is about 4-6 times greater than traditional farming systems; moreover, it is less labour-intensive.
