I had some time ago stumbled upon an interesting article at Latimes.com. It was titled "Doctor's attempt to bring lower priced diabetes drug to market thwarted". Author last name Lazarus. It describes a doctor obtaining a grant to study blood sugar lowering properties of a long available generic anti malarial drug and how the study could not be completed because a huge price increase from 50cents to $3 per pill broke the budget for the study. The link below contains a summary. Any can find the full article within. I had used up my free articles at latimes.com for the month and cannot display it directly.

I thought the article illustrated some of the challenges in evaluating an alternative medication if one does not have the money or backing of "big pharma". Probably some interesting implications here for Sucanon. Just speculating that some pharmas may have an interest in Sucanon not succeeding
