I think precedent-worship distorts the law over time. I wish judges would simply rule on the law instead of ruling based on how some previous judge interpreted the law.

So what you're saying is if two people sue, you think they should be able to have two different outcomes based on the judge's legal interpretation?

And a district court judge should be able to overrule a Supreme Court judge?

I don't think so.

Besides...think about how this would work.

Two choices...A and B.

Supreme Court rules A.
District Court rules B.
Supreme Court (after laughing) reverses on appeal and makes the ruling A again.

Same outcome, longer and more expensive process.
