OK....so jump on the bandwagon insist the "average" US citizen be tax just like their counterpart in the EU. No doubt we'd be debating the incredibly "cruel" increase in taxes paid by many who pay virtually no taxes today.

The only thing certain about the cost burden of healthcare in the USA today is those who pay the most are in the minority.
