What's interesting here is that Charles continues to pull in new money.

Why is this "undisclosed, lead investor" investing $1,000,000?
What does he or she see or know?

Charles is either using the money for continued cost biz or swindling the investor.

Forever the optimist... I'm guessing he's using it to keep the company afloat till profits can be derived.
