Yes, people are looking for alternatives to fiat. It's that simple, but I'm sure most of this investment/speculation in these crypto currencies is being generated by the younger crowd and most of that investment is coming from overseas. Where I might add, most of the PM investment comes from. People in the rest of the world are more worried about where their respective fiats are going than those in the U.S., who I think have been lulled into thinking the dollar will be around forever.
That's a big mistake I think.

I won't disagree that some sort of digital currency is going to be the new Thing because I think that's where the Elites want it to go. They want to have as much control over us as possible. Do away with cash completely because cash can't be followed, so this crypto is playing right into their hands, but this digital currency will be what they can follow.

IMO the digital currency will be what they provide, not Bitcoin or another non-sanctioned form of currency. They want to continue to pull the strings and that can only be done with their self-approved money.
