I can see why Novartis were so excited now.

1- Our vector causing less Cytokine release syndrome
2- Freezing (cryopreserved) means that CTL019 can be given at the optimun time as these patients are very ill.
3- Novartis being one of the largest pharmaceutical companies is in a prime position to exploit the full potential of it`s immunotherapies.

Carl June also hypothesised;
T-cells in this study were cryopreserved prior to being modified to fight cancer. Its possible that optimizing cryopreservation methods would improve T-cell survival and post-thaw expansion.
