June 14,15-Two days of high heat, and maybe a thunderstorm this evening. Weather like this shuts me down early. I sit in the chair in the shade in the afternoons and doze. Then go home. The past two mornings I've managed to remain productive. Mulching melon hills, weeding, watering. Picking cukes while waiting for the tomatoes to turn.

One encouraging sign. I noticed fruit had formed on the first Polish Model melon vines. Hairy little bulbs at the end of a flower stem. At least I won't get skunked despite the lack of honeybees. Later while checking progress I spotted 3 fruit had formed on the first Sugar Baby watermelon vines. I just hope more form in the days and weeks ahead.

Dreama took images but she forgot to email them. Again.

Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
