China, Metals, Energy???????
I have spent a lot of time this weekend trying to decide if I should hold my big gaining base metal stocks. I had long term gains in some oil stocks and sold them to raise some cash.
I think I am going to hold through the 3rd quarter reporting season and see which way the wind is blowing in December. Most of my stocks are going to show blockbuster earnings. I think slowing the global consumption of base metals is going to be like stopping an oil tanker. I think the capital projects are increasing and the consumption will continue to be unprecidented in the BRIC countries.
Zinc is my favorite play and I see the inventory in the LME warehouses approaching zero in the first half of next year. The inventory draw down seems to be accelerating over the past 2 weeks.
I hold BWLRF, RNO, EZM, HBM.TO, and ARSD(wild card) Everybody should have one wild card!!
As far as energy goes, I hold all of the SeaDrill shares (Thanks to 10 bagger for that one). I sold my TRMAZ a little too early, but I needed to pay taxes. DNO.OL and PAR.OL were sold recently to buy RNO and raise a little cash. I think energy will be a rollercoaster of inventories, discoveries, and politics. Volatile to say the least. I may try to trade energy and re-enter if oil gets back in the $50's.
I am also looking at a stock mentioned on the zipcode changers board. I would like to hear what any of you think about it if you will take a minute to visit over there.
It seems like the world is going to consume itself into oblivion.
