A transport truck overturned on the QEW spilling a toxic load?

Is P2O open and shipping "fuel" again?

Update: 1 km of the area is being evacuated and another 1 km further is being asked to stay inside with your windows closed, businesses also closed in the area.

A single transport truck roll over on the QEW has closed all lanes in both direction in St. Catharines.

OPP say the truck was hauling a toxic substance called Phosphine, inhalation is hazard and is very flammable, which has caused a evacuation of a 1.2 km radius from the QEW between Highway 406 and Ontario st.

Niagara Regional police will be knocking on businesses and residents doors to evacuate the area.

OPP say the truck hit the centre wall and rolled over onto the centre guard rail. The truck driver was not injured and no other vehicles were involved.

Dangerous goods crew and emergency clean up crews are on their way to the scene. No time line for reopening.
