• Commissioner Dave Waddington: This isn’t going down to the corner and buying a marijuana cigarette. This is regulated. If you are dying or are in pain, it can give you some relief.
• Commissioner Naomi Twine: When I initially voted to put a moratorium on this, my line of thinking was (this ban was more for) recreational marijuana. But after getting some information and more education on this, medical marijuana is for people who have different types of health issues. Knowing those people who have health issues and giving them the opportunity to seek medical relief, I will support that.
• Commissioner Nikki Lloyd: It just makes sense to support this.
• Commissioner Greg Lockhart: The data shows that having medicinal marijuana reduces the number of opiate deaths in each state that it has been approved in.
• Commissioner Dick Brady: It creates jobs. It can help the sick. Those are reasons enough to support that.
