Castel seen as next Anheuser-Busch major target
Jun. 6, 2017 9:52 AM ET|About: Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV (BUD)|By: Clark Schultz, SA News Editor
Evercore ISI suggests Anheuser-Busch InBev's (BUD -0.4%) next large target may be French beverage giant Castel Group, instead of a 3G-inspired play for Coca-Cola (KO -0.1%) or PepsiCo (PEP).
The investment firm sketches out a valuation of roughly $20B to $25B for Castel in a takeover scenario.
Castel, which is the largest wine producer in Europe, is still a family-owned business, although A-B inherited a 22% stake through its acquisition of SABMiller.
