just to "beat the topic to death" for a minute....soap is a wetting agent....all it does is make water "wetter" so it effectively surrounds the dirt particles and carries them away....the bacteria on your hands is not harmed by the soap....

it's the scrubbing action which crushes/kills the bacteria....all soap deos is remove it...

the antiseptic qualities of a soap are added to the product and are "beyond" the purpose of the soap itself....

and, there are arguments which claim that using anti-bacterial soaps are potential harmful insofar as they cause something akin to an immunity situation...thus destroying your natural immunities....
