1. NeoMedia doesn't have any patents. They were seized when NeoMedia went belly up.
2. Near Field Communication has no relationship to barcode scanning.
3. Former NeoMedia's old patents had only one that mentioned NFC, the '885 patent. It was a terminal used in an airport to scan electronic plane tickets. It did not claim the mobile device had NFC. Notably, NM, LLC paid the maintenance fees on 8/2/2016. NeoMedia built some of the machines but exited the business after they failed.
4. Their terminal technology would not work for either payments for geofencing applications, like Beacon.
