Lab-on-a-chip, gene-microarrays, microfluidics on electronic circuit boards are for real. Don't know about APDN's supposed chip, but all the genetics testing companies use DNA microchips. The microarrays have thousands of sequences, you add the sample, wash it off and anything that sticks lights up under fluorescence.

APDN might be developing a detection chip, a single one that can ID thousands of single sequences, or tens of millions of multiple sequence combinations in a sample.

BTW, DNA is a polymer but not a protein. Much easier to transcribe and copy DNA than proteins.
