I agree with the pedestrian's commentary on the letter..."Public figures can only sue for liable if there is actual malice, which is defined as a "reckless disregard for the truth". This letter seems intended to establish malice in case the piece is aired".
Clinton's att'y very carefully pointed out the errors by giving facts backed up with specific records, and he was very careful to point out the political leanings of the author, again with specifics.
As stated above, this letter "seems intended to establish malice"; I believe it does.
