May 29-The heat this afternoon was immobilizing, not only for me, but also CC the Calico Cat, who spent most of it napping under the patio umbrella leaning against the brick wall.
Little was accomplished. Watered morning and afternoon. Then a one and done rainstorm this evening which means I will omit the tomorrow morning's watering. I did deepen and expand the hole for a blueberry plant. And I mulched, and weeded. And that was about it.
The first cantaloupe plants have leafed out, creating a canopy underneath to conserve moisture for the roots. More tomatoes and peppers have appeared. More flowers on the cucumber vines. Soon, it will be crepe myrtle weather.
