AT&T Inc (T)

Got a question for the board. How many shares must one hold to become a 5% or 10% owner of At&T? The reason for the question is my brother in law just found some old stock certificates from 1978 that his dad had bought back then of AT&T, but has since passed away. He found the certificate in a box in the basement after doing some cleaning. I did some searching and found AT&T had 3 different splits over the years and with dividends compounded for the last 40 years I ball parked the number of shares to be around 160,000 shares. Any insight would be great so I can tell him. TIA.
