Hmmm, so, the idea was obviously to get away from 'low-power', since the message was wrong. 'Efficient' therefore sending a stronger, more powerful, controlled and cleverly organised, subliminal message. The 'Eon' is just plain self explanatory and very very very, for the millionth time, over- done, obvious, dull, lacks creativity and the lesser of two evils, the second being 'Era'...rock bottom has to be 'paradigm shift'!!!

OK, lets look at Astro...good idea. Subliminal message of new star. Star is born. Star in the making etc. etc.

However, Efficeon, has left me, well, my juices are'nt running, lets put it that way. I was and wanted to be excited. I was and wanted to have the wow and oooh factor.

I would have taken a different approach to the new star.

For the eradication of the negative low-power label, I would not have gone for efficient. I would have gone for:

Function: adjective
Definition: active
Synonyms: activating, aggressive, ballsy, changing, charismatic, compelling, driving, effective, electric, energetic, energizing, enterprising, forceful, forcible, go-ahead, go-getter, go-getting, high-powered, hyped up, influential, intense, lively, lusty, magnetic, peppy, potent, powerful, productive, progressive, red-blooded, strenuous, vehement, vigorous, vital, vitalizing, zippy (but enough about me...)

Then, I would have said to Mr Ditzel, "you coined, Code Morphing, and the Crusoe has morphed and increased in megahertz, to 1GH and beyond? Correct?"

"Therefore, we have increased the speed and maintain this on the fly? Correct? This is the literal dynamic? Correct?"

"yes"

Well, we have a new star and we need to convey this, with the most commonly quoted phrase, 'using Code Morphing Software'.

"We also want to convey a lasting presense, a new age, an era or eon?"

A Dynasty. The birth of a new family. Something quite different and exploding onto the scene, like dynamite. In fact, the visual image of a star being born.

I would have branded Astro and introduced:

Transmeta DYNAMORPH. The Cool Processor for Mobile Computing with Dynamic Efficiency.


.....or along those lines, but not Efficeon....sorry, but it lacks ummph, shahbang, is boring and bland. I would have told the marketing company to Eff off and think again. Bird X
