"we sort of expect that sort of thing on the OTC,..." Maybe that was the problem. Easy to forget how far Sears has fallen. Its market cap is only about $800 million... a small cap stock. And I forgot that it trades on the NASDAQ nowadays not the NYSE.

I'm generally a believer in the Efficient Market Theory of stock pricing (hence my fondness for index funds). But it was interesting to witness Mister Market get things so wrong, at least for a few hours.
