IMO on this specific point you are overthinking it. It's a typical marketing item. Maybe Abe started in construction/installation in 1983 so now he can claim that's when he company started. It doesn't mean that's when SUNWORKS was formed as we know it today.
RGSE does the same thing in solar space -they had one job in the 80s, now they claim it. If RGSE is not the best example, other companies doing it in their respective industries.
"Since 19xx" is a pure marketing play, nothing else
