My parents were never ones to get into the stock market. I set up an E*TRADE acct for them and bought them half million shares as a gift, knowing that gift will be much larger than my original contribution in few months from now. Its the least I could do for all the love and support they have provided me growing up, essentially making me who I am. My mother is retired and my father plans to next month, he is 68. He mostly works to stay active and he enjoys it as the business is his. I've been pushing him hard to hang up his boots and enjoy the world with my mother. He finally caved and said next month Is it. Nothing would make me happier than to surprise them with a nice chunk of change to make their retirement even sweeter, they deserve it. They know nothing about my plan or their holdings yet.
