Correct. OWCP R&D cost is low mainly because most of the current R&D is done at SHEBA which is an internationally known Medical Research Center (SMC) that collaborates closely with MD Anderson!

SMC is accredited by HHS regulation assurance of compliance for the protection of human subjects (Federal wide Assurance – FWA) making us eligible for US federal grants for research involving human clinical trials, thus serving as a major site for industry-sponsored clinical trials and clinical product development.
SMC research is funded by internal sources, donations, local and international research trusts, and private companies (biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device, etc.).
